Overview

Yatou foods ltd is a Gambian based company operating in the food and supply space. It is currently operating at minimum capacity due to lack of funds to expand its production and take advantage of bigger contracts that are possible. As a business, Yatou Foods receives sacks of raw materials (Corn ,millet, rice, ) from contracted suppliers, packages them using its own labels and then sells and distributes to wholesalers as well as the local customers.

History

Yatou foods started back in 2007 by Alagie Nyang who was working and studying in the USA where he formulated the idea to create his own company. On his return to the Gambia he renewed his interest in the field of catering and embarked on a food processing and packaging project which at that time was named Nyangballo foods. Not having access to any outside funding He started with his own funds and quickly made a name within the local market and local street vendors. With a bigger picture in mind for the organisation and thinking ahead as per growth, a decision was made between the new developed partners to rebrand and rename the business to Yatou Foods. This new partnership has been able to up production with new enthusiasm and now supplies some wholesalers and a few supermarkets within the Serekunda region with intentions to expand to the rest of the Gambia, Senegal and west Africa.
